How it works
Two ways to order
Browse the gallery for models that are already designed and ready to print — pick a size and material, and it goes straight into the queue.
Or request something custom if you have your own idea. Send a description, a reference photo, a sketch, or an existing 3D file, and you’ll get a reply with pricing and a rough timeline before anything gets printed.
What you can send for a custom order
- A written description of what you want (“a planter shaped like a fox, about hand-sized”)
- Reference photos or sketches
- An existing 3D file (STL, 3MF, STEP, or OBJ) if you already have one designed or sourced
If you don’t have a file, that’s completely fine — most custom orders start as an idea, not a model.
Design → print → finish → ship
- Design — the model gets created or adapted to fit what you asked for, and checked that it’ll actually print cleanly.
- Print — printed to order on a Snapmaker U1, one job at a time.
- Hand-finish — supports removed, layer lines cleaned up where it affects the look or feel of the piece.
- Ship — packed carefully and sent out.
Materials: PLA vs PETG
Material choice comes down to what the piece needs to survive, not which plastic sounds nicer:
- PLA is the default for most decorative and indoor pieces. It prints with crisp, fine detail and holds sharp features well, but it softens once it hits its glass transition point (~60°C) — a hot car or direct summer sun can warp it, and it can snap under sudden stress.
- PETG holds its structural integrity up to roughly 70–75°C and survives about 3–4x more impact than PLA before cracking, which makes it the better choice for anything functional, outdoor, or likely to get knocked around daily — phone stands, hooks, planters left outside, parts that see regular handling.
Neither PLA nor PETG is UV-stable for the long haul outdoors — a piece left in direct sun for months will fade and become brittle over time. For demanding, long-term outdoor use, ASA or ABS is the more UV- and weather-resistant option.
If you’re not sure which one fits your idea, mention where the piece will live and it’ll get recommended for you.
Sizes
Most models are printed within the build volume of the Snapmaker U1
([BUILD VOLUME]). Larger pieces can sometimes be split and assembled — ask
when you send your request.
Turnaround and shipping
Typical turnaround is [TURNAROUND TIME] from order confirmation to
shipment, depending on queue length and how involved the design is.
Shipping currently covers [SHIPPING REGIONS] — see
